News: A Recent Note from the Owner

Dear Skaters,

We are now almost into the bulk of our touring season. I am running my first two tours of the year in June, a Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard Tour on June 4th and a Switzerland Tour on June 22nd. I am looking forward to getting out of the office for both!  Before that happens I will be spending the Memorial Day weekend kayaking in the Apostle Islands. I guess even with the growth of Zephyr I still get out of the office more than most . . .

We have two important news items that I wish to share. First, our two scheduled Skate Camps for 2000 are sold out. We added a new Camp date in September that was originally scheduled for September 17th but is now confirmed for September 24th. If you are ready to learn to skate or improve your skills with the best instructors and in a great vacation setting, mark your calendars and give us a call!

Second and on the opposite end of the skills spectrum is a piece of news about our Europe by Night Tour. This Tour is a combination of three great cities (Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris) where we skate-see by day and join the locals at "Night Skates" in the evening. The news?  Berlin just ran their first weekly skate of the season with a record 50,000 skaters!  Imagine this for a second:  the streets are packed with skaters, cars have to wait for over an hour for everyone to pass, great camaraderie, and an incredible experience. There is no other weekly event like this anywhere else in the world, on skates or off.
