The Tours: Our 2000 Schedule

What is an Inline Skate Tour? A Skate Tour is a fun, active vacation for those who like to inline skate.  Now one of the most popular recreational activities in the world, skating also is a great way to spend your holidays! In 2000 we have tours in seven fantastic locations: The Netherlands, Switzerland, Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard, Minnesota's Rail Trails, Florida's Withlacoochie River & Gulf Coast, Pennsylvania's Amish Area, and a combo Europe by Night Tour.

We take care of all the details, such as finding a good tour location; providing route directions; hiring fantastic guides who provide van support and skating instruction; and arranging food and lodging. On a typical day, you rise to a buffet breakfast and optional skating instruction by our guides, all Certified Instructors. We then have a route talk where you learn about your three route options for the day: short (10-12 miles), medium (20-25), and long (30-35). You have directions in hand and so can skate as slowly or quickly as you like, stopping when and where you please to sniff the flowers, visit the pubs, or chat with the locals. In the evening we have a group dinner at a local restaurant and sometimes an evening cultural activity.

Two or three guides accompany each tour and groups range from 12-24 participants. Our skaters come in all ages (11-70 in 1999), shapes, sizes, and — most importantly — ability levels. Most of our tours are for Advanced Beginners and up.  An Advanced Beginner is someone who can skate comfortably for several miles but isn't necessarily proficient at stopping.

The tour price includes a Pre-Departure Packet, local land transportation (van shuttles, ferries, and train trips within the tour), double occupancy accommodation, breakfasts and dinners, optional skating instruction, and van support. Airfare to the tour location, lunches, and drinks are not included.
